SANTA CLARA, CA – September 26, 2005 – Following its acquisition of the Extenza e-Publishing service earlier this year, Atypon is pleased to announce that 45 Extenza publishing clients have been transferred to the Atypon platform. The former Extenza service is being re-named Atypon Link and offers a low cost e-publishing solution for current customers as well as to new clients. Atypon Link builds on Atypon's suite of e-publishing services which includes Atypon Premium, PDFplus, LINKplus, and custom publishing solutions.

All 60 Atypon publisher clients – publishing over 1,700 journals – are run on the Literatum software which has been serving large and mid-sized publishers with an end-to-end e-publishing solution since 1998. Atypon publisher clients include Blackwell Publishing, Annual Reviews, the University of California Press, Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Walter de Gruyter, the American Marketing Association, and Thomas Telford, as well as providing the backbone technology for the industry linking initiative, CrossRef.

Georgios Papadopoulos, CEO said, "Adding Atypon Link to our suite of services means that we can offer publishers a low-cost, fully managed journal-hosting service. Atypon will now be able to serve a wider range of publishers. We are delighted that the migration from the old Extenza system to the Literatum platform is now complete. Offering Atypon Link means that publishers will be able to strengthen their own relationships with their librarian customers, end-users, authors and society members. We are looking forward to working with the Atypon Link customers. The move to the new platform opens up many opportunities for publishers through the additional features it offers."

Atypon Link

Atypon Link provides publishers with a low-cost and streamlined platform for total management of production, hosting and delivery of content online. It allows for a branded publisher presence and the ability to set publishing and business model parameters with an easy to use, reliable system. Atypon Link simplifies the process of getting content online and into a feature-rich Internet environment.

Link offers publishers an easy-to-implement online solution that is economical and secure while providing its librarian and user community with the features and service that they need.

Atypon will be officially launching Atypon Link at the Frankfurt Bookfair, October 19-23 2005, in Hall 4.2 G445.

Atypon Premium

Atypon Premium e-publishing solution offers publishers a complete platform that manages each step of the process from content production and linking to administration of content collections and licensing models through full control of a custom-designed, branded website for their users. Publishers use a sophisticated administration tool to gain a high level of hands-on administrative control of their online business and a customized, feature-rich web site to present their content.

Atypon is continuing to build on this platform with modules that allow publishers greater control over the content and appearance of their site, additional tools to efficiently mine usage data and create marketing and outreach programs.

Atypon Premium is geared towards publishers wishing to maximize the power of the Internet to build their online business, experiment with new business models and content configurations, customize their websites, and reach a wider audience.
